This is a typical auger from older model single gear juicers. This screw is very similar to the first Oscar 502 juicer, with no design changes taking place.

Released in early 2005, Oscar Vital Max 900 has a newly patented three-step extraction auger working inside a dual stage juicing screen. Upon the initial crushing of the produce, any released juice is directed through the first stage of the juicing screen into the juice collection bowl. The crushed produce minus juice then continues its way through the machine to the second stage, where there is a finer holed screen to obtain not only a higher yield, but a near pulp free juice.

This is a screen which is typical of most other single gear juicers. The holes need to be large to prevent clogging, yet the larger the holes the more pulp is extracted into the juice, therefore the need for a sieve on the collection bowl to separate the pulp from the juice. Made from polycarbonate. Other single gear juicers may be affected by the following problems: 1. Leaks, especially into the locking clip and motor housing (this causes long term problems with the gearbox as fruit acids reach the lubricating grease within the gearbox causing extra noise and eventually a breakage.... additionally locking clips / face plates of juicers are tricky to clean and add to your time) 2. Poor performance with soft fruits (soft fruits hold more juice extractable at the first stage. When trying to pass this juice onto the second stage typically nothing happens at all and produce remains stationary in the juicing drum with the juice and all the auger does is stir it).

Silicon seal has improved efficiency, more juice extracted and less pulp has eliminated the need for a sieve on collection. Longer stage one and less screen to clean. Made from ULTEM, ideal for high strength applications. It is hydrolysis resistant, highly resistant to acidic solutions and capable of withstanding repeated autoclaving cycles. Sprouted Chickpea Hommus 1 ½ cups soaked , sprouted and drained chick peas ½ cup chopped spring onion ½ cup chopped parsley ¼ cup lemon juice Big squeeze of orange or lemon juice 2 tbls hulled tahini 1 tbls honey or maple syrup 2 tbls Bragss liquid aminos Pinch cayenne pepper (optional) Ginger (optional) Feed chickpeas, parsley, spring onion into Oscar using the mincing screen and drum cap. Thoroughly mix all other ingredients together and serve. Pesto 1 ½ cups of basil finger thick bunch of parsley 1 clove garlic 1 cup pine nuts (or pistachio) juice of ½ lemon 2 tsp olive oil Braggs Amino Acids Feed the basil, parsley, garlic and pine nuts through the Oscar using the mincing function. Mix the oil and lemon juice into the paste until smooth. Spice with Braggs.

Upon the initial crushing of the produce, any released juice is directed through the first stage of the juicing screen into the juice collection bowl. It is often referred to as the “blood of plant life” as it closely resembles the molecule of human red blood cells. Wheatgrass is not only rich in chlorophyll: it has 100 elements needed by the body to keep vital and nourished. Cut the grass close to the roots. You can get a second yield although the content won’t be as rich as the original grass. Feed the wheatgrass into the Oscar tips first. Undoubtedly, wheatgrass has a very strong taste. Juiced tomatoes and herbs Soup 8 tomatoes 2 carrots Pinch of sea salt Pinch of black pepper 1 tsp. fresh dill 2-3 basil leaves 1 tsp olive oil Place the fruit or vegetable screen over the auger. Feed in the carrots and tomatoes then mix all the ingredients together. Then let everything run through again. Decorate with a sprinkle of fresh herbs or flowers. Max Salsa 4 ripe tomatoes ½ red or green capsicum ½ stick celery 1 small onion 1 clove garlic 1-2 tbsp fresh coriander 1/3 tsp cumin Braggs liquid aminos Cayenne pepper or fresh chilli Cut and feed all ingredients into chute alternatively. Mix well and serve vegetable sticks or rice crackers made with the Oscar Vital Max.
Sprouted Chickpea Hommus 1 ½ cups soaked , sprouted and drained chick peas ½ cup chopped spring onion ½ cup chopped parsley ¼ cup lemon juice Big squeeze of orange or lemon juice 2 tbls hulled tahini 1 tbls honey or maple syrup 2 tbls Bragss liquid aminos Pinch cayenne pepper (optional) Ginger (optional) Feed chickpeas, parsley, spring onion into Oscar using the mincing screen and drum cap. Thoroughly mix all other ingredients together and serve. Pesto 1 ½ cups of basil finger thick bunch of parsley 1 clove garlic 1 cup pine nuts (or pistachio) juice of ½ lemon 2 tsp olive oil Braggs Amino Acids Feed the basil, parsley, garlic and pine nuts through the Oscar using the mincing function. Mix the oil and lemon juice into the paste until smooth. Spice with Braggs.
